What to Expect
Getting Started
Once you fill out the contact form, I will get in touch with you to schedule an appointment. If we are able to find a time that works, I will send you intake forms through the client portal to be completed before your first session. These forms will include treatment consent, privacy policies, general health history and mental health assessment tools.
These forms will take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
2. First Appointment
You will receive a confirmation email and text message including the date and time of your appointment and the link for the video call.
During the first session we will review treatment consent and confidentiality. We will then move through a diagnostic assessment, exploring your history, current symptoms and treatment goals.
3. Following Sessions
Each session moving forward will involve a check in followed by interventions from your treatment plan. These sessions will be tailored to you and your needs in therapy and in a given week.
Common therapy interventions include:
Validation, challenging negative beliefs or behaviors, identifying strengths, processing challenges, reinforcing progress, learning and practicing new skills (ie: mindfulness, communication, emotion regulation, self-care).
